Macro work

So I’ve been gone for a while now, I’m in my final year at Uni so doing a lot of work. But thought I would post a few of my macro photography for people to look at. Please let me know what you think. Thanks! x

Bollington

Please click the first image to view all

These photos are of various locations from a photography shoot around Bollington, Macclesfield. The first two photographs are marks in the bridge made by rope after years of horses pulling boats along the canal. The second two are of an abandoned gate found on a path, leaning against a wooden fence. The fifth picture is of a garage I found and the last if old parts of a car or something which have been abandoned and let to merge with the surroundings

Hope you enjoy and please comment any thoughts

Rusty Screws and Shallow Depths of Field

Both of these pictures are from the same park bench.

The first picture is a hole in the bench seat. I took some pictures from further away then decided I wanted to capture more detail so went closer in.

The second picture I was messing around with the f stops and shutter speeds and came up with this extremely shallow depth of field. It isn’t the best photograph but I think it really shows off how shallow the depth of field will go

Feedback welcome

Rust and Erosion

I took these a while back when I was doing an erosion project for my art. All these things are in my back garden.

The curved piece of rusty orange metal is a leg stand of an extremely old wheelbarrow. I increased the saturation a tiny amount to slightly lift the colours and create that more vivid orange colour.

The old light was positioned over my back door but the door isn’t there anymore so it is not just on the wall of our house. I got a ladder to get fairly close and tried a few angles, this one is my favourite because of the detail you can see under the lid part and the contrast of the stone against the white metal.

This picture isn’t my favourite and it has been cropped quite a bit but I just like this lock. The variety of colours on this small amount of wood brings the picture more life. I also like that the wood and metal are kind of becoming one over time.
